We have an award-winning Enrichment programme at Greenhead College. It covers everything not covered in your main examined subjects and pastoral programme. You will gain a tremendous amount from participating in Enrichment. We aim to provide you with the opportunity to develop new interests, become more knowledgeable and skilled in an area, boost your self-confidence and benefit from doing something away from the pressure of passing exams. Those who interview for places in higher education, jobs and training schemes want evidence of wider achievements as well as good grades. They want to know about leadership skills, self-motivation, commitment and evidence of good time management. You can gain all of these attributes here at Greenhead. A record will be kept of all the activities you participate in and the details used by your tutor to write your UCAS and/or employment reference. There is a broad range of activities on offer, catering for all tastes.
Our second Queen's Anniversary Prize declares:
" The College's enrichment programme is a national exemplar of what can be done at sixth form level to extend students' education and personal growth beyond their academic courses. Hugely varied and demanding, the programme calls on students to develop self-reliance, promotes citizenship and prepares them to meet the world of work or further study with confidence and commitment."
Here you can find details of some of the activities which go on at Greenhead outside the classroom to enrich your education:
Activities often run on Wednesday afternoons, but at other times as well. Activities vary in length from one half term to a year.
