What is General Studies?

A-Level General Studies is an examination subject taken by second years, in addition to your A-level subjects as a part of the enrichment programme. Whilst first year students have the opportunity to take the AS-Level as part of the enrichment programme. This subject draws on your knowledge and understanding of current issues.

Structured learning is supported by the General Studies Moodle site, by General Studies lessons timetabled into tutorials in the second year and sessions in the enrichment programme.

The General Studies courses at Greenhead follows the EDEXCEL specification.

Why take General Studies?

A-level General Studies is a very useful extra A-level qualification which broadens your academic studies, and helps develop your knowledge and skills of communication and critical analysis. Many universities accept General Studies as an entrance qualification.
