What is General Studies?

General Studies is an examination subject taken in the second year, in addition to your A-level subjects. This subject draws on your knowledge and understanding of current issues.
All students take the AS examinations in January of the second year. the A-level examinations are taken in June of the second year. Both examinations assess your ability to:

Structured learning is supported by the General Studies Moodle site, and by General Studies lessons timetabled into tutorials in the second year.

The General Studies courses at Greenhead follows the EDEXCEL specification.

Why take General Studies?

A-level General Studies is a very useful extra A-level qualification which broadens your academic studies, and helps develop your knowledge and skills of communication and critical analysis. Many universities accept General Studies as an entrance qualification.
