Celebrating a Year of Talent and Team Spirit at the Greenhead College Sports Awards 2026

Greenhead College came together this week to celebrate an exceptional year of sporting success at the Sports Awards 2026, recognising the dedication, teamwork and outstanding performances of students across Badminton, Basketball, Football and Netball.

The event honoured athletes who have demonstrated commitment throughout the season, with awards presented for Honours, Most Valuable Player and Player’s Player – the latter voted for by teammates in recognition of leadership, attitude and impact on the court or pitch.

One of the evening’s standout moments was the celebration of the Basketball team, who were crowned AoC Sport Yorkshire and Humber League Champions for the second year running. Losing only one game all season, the squad’s back‑to‑back title marks an incredible achievement and reflects the strength and consistency of the programme.

Across Football and Netball, First, Second and Third Teams applauded their MVPs and Players’ Players, while Honours awards highlighted A2 students who have consistently excelled and contributed to their sport throughout their time at Greenhead.
