How to Apply from a Local Partner School
How does it work?
Places are offered first to applicants from our 11 Local Partner schools in the Huddersfield area. The remaining places are then offered to other applicants on consideration of mock GCSE results/current working grades and the remaining availability of subject places.
Applicants must be eligible for funding by the Education and Schools Funding Agency (ESFA) and must be under the age of 18 on 1st September 2021.

Step 1 – Attend an Open Event
You should attend one of our Open Events. These are a great opportunity for you to meet our expert teachers and find out more from some of the subjects that you are considering studying.
Step 2 – Make an Application
Please use the online application system to complete your application to Greenhead College. You will find this on the ‘Application Form’ page on the website.
Step 3 – Have an Interview
Our Liaison Team and Staff interviewers will conduct your interview at your school.
They will ensure that you are making an appropriate choice of subjects to study and they will make a decision on whether to offer you a place. The interview is an important part of our process and it is important that you are able to express your needs clearly to us.
Step 4 – Accept the Offer
If you are successful you will be sent a letter detailing your offer of a place at Greenhead College. The offer must be accepted by the deadline stated in the offer letter.

Step 3 – Have an Interview
We will invite you to attend a virtual interview with a member of our Liaison Team or specialist Staff interviewers. The interview will be in January or February 2022, and the interview letters will be sent out from late December 2021.
All applicants are invited for interview and you should contact us sooner rather than later if you have not heard from us. Do not wait until after the closing date to check whether we have received your form, as it will then be too late to do anything about it.
Your interviewer will discuss your application with you in light of references from your teachers. Ideally you should bring your official mock examination results to the interview. If they are not available, they can be emailed to the college later. You should also bring your latest school report.
Your interviewer will ensure that you are making an appropriate choice of subjects to study. They will look at your mock grades and/or most recent progress grades and any results you bring with you, and will discuss any hobbies or interests you might have. The interview is an important part of our process and it is important that you are able to express your needs clearly to us.
Step 4 Accept the Offer
If you are successful you will be sent a letter detailing your offer of a place at Greenhead College, which you must accept by the deadline stated. Small batches of offers will be made throughout the Spring term but the bulk of decisions are made at the end of March. (All required evidence should be submitted before then.) Every applicant, successful or otherwise, will receive a decision letter by the end of the Easter break.
