Mental Health and Well-being

We all have mental health and well-being, just as we all have physical health, and at Greenhead College your mental health and well-being is our top priority because we know that having this support helps you to be exceptional in all aspects of your life.

Our Mental Health and Well-being Framework demonstrates Greenhead College’s commitment to well-being and helps creates a positive culture of mental and physical health, that benefits the whole College community. It brings together all strands of high quality support under one umbrella.

In 2024 we were awarded Gold standard for its outstanding mental health and well-being provision by the Carnegie Centre for Excellence for Mental Health in Schools and Colleges.

A week dedicated to student mental health and well-being

#WellFest is a week in the College calendar that is dedicated to supporting and promoting  student well-being. It is another step forward in ensuring every student feels supported, both inside and outside the classroom.

Throughout this week, students have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities, sessions, and events designed to promote positive mental health and well-being. There is also a Well-being Showcase on the Friday, which brings together internal support and local organisations who can offer information, advice, and engaging activities.

Mental and Physical (M+P) Weeks

Exploring how well-being impacts academic outcomes

M+P Weeks highlight the importance placed on mental health and well-being by the College. They offer an opportunity to explore the relationship between well-being and academic outcomes, and open a channel of communication between staff and students to allow a process of reflection in the classroom.

We have a dedicated M+P week each term.
