Celebrating Duke of Edinburgh Success at Greenhead College
13 May 2026We are incredibly proud to celebrate the brilliant achievements of our students through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Greenhead College.
This year, 44 A2 students have already completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award – an impressive achievement that takes real commitment alongside A Level study.
At our recent Duke of Edinburgh Awards Ceremony, students were presented with Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates, recognising the effort and determination behind each Award.
Eighteen students have completed their Bronze and Silver Awards while studying at Greenhead, with A1 students receiving Bronze and Silver certificates too – many of whom started their DofE journey before joining us. If students arrive with a part-completed Award, our experienced DofE team will support them to continue and complete it successfully.
We also want to highlight something many future students may not realise: students do not need to have completed Bronze or Silver to take on Gold. In fact, many students on our Gold programme begin at Greenhead without having completed either.
Students can begin their Gold Award from their 16th birthday, and they are encouraged to ask their current school to register them early to gain a head start. The Award can then be transferred smoothly to Greenhead when students enrol.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a key part of student life at Greenhead, helping students develop confidence, independence, resilience and teamwork – skills that are highly valued beyond the classroom. We are incredibly proud of all students who have achieved an Award and those who are continuing their DofE journey with us.
Greenhead extends its sincere congratulations to all students who have been awarded a Duke of Edinburgh Award this year.
