Celebrating our Class of 2024

On Thursday 19th December, we welcomed back our Class of 2024 to celebrate their achievements at our Awards and Reunion evening.

Their results, released in summer 2024, were record-breaking for the College and the event celebrated not only these incredible results, but their memories and individual success outside of the classroom, during their time at Greenhead College.

Richard Armstrong opened the event, followed by College Principal, Mo Bunter with a round-up of the 2023/24 college year showcasing the impressive talent amongst the year group, and their collective efforts, including raising over £2000 for Project Youth Cancer.

The special guest of the evening and presenter of the awards was former Greenhead College student, Professor Judy Hirst – the face behind the College’s brand-new Hirst Building. It was inspiring to hear all about Judy’s pathway since leaving Greenhead College in 1990, and how the key to success is kindness, “It’s no use trying to be clever – we are all clever here. Just try to be kind – a little kind.” -Foakes-Jackson, Jesus College Cambridge.

Awards were then handed out to deserving recipients in each individual subject area plus a variety of special recognition and achievement awards, which were handed out by The Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Nosheen Dad.

Thank you to everybody who attended, it was fantastic to see our former students again and hear all about their new adventures!
