GC students achieve silver and bronze at National Sporting Championships

Over the Easter holidays, 13 students from Greenhead College competed in the AoC Sports National Championships at The University of Nottingham, representing both Greenhead College and the Yorkshire & Humber region.

Despite fierce competition, our students demonstrated the strength of their sporting prowess on a national level, and achieved some exceptional results:

Our women’s football team came second out of ten regions in a closely fought 7-a-side tournament, picking up a silver medal –  a magnificent achievement!  Well done to Alex, Ava, Beth C, Beth H, Brooke, Catherine, Emily, Hannah, Holly and Sophie.

Adam Metcalf and Shrena Ramakrishnan competed for the Yorkshire and Humber mixed badminton team. They both performed superbly all weekend competing against 8 other regions and came away with a well-deserved bronze medal.

Jack Drummond represented Yorkshire and Humber in the male tennis competition. Despite narrowly missing out on a medal, he performed fantastically.

All students were a real asset to the College and should be immensely proud of their achievements.
