Charity Week Gallery

Greenhead College’s highly anticipated Charity Week took place last week.

Thank you and well done to Zoe Nutter and Aalia Bhaiyat, our two student Charity Officers who did such a fantastic job planning and organising the week so successfully. Thank you, also, to all of the student volunteers who supported Zoe and Aalia in their fundraising efforts.

This year, the chosen charity was The Welcome Centre in Huddersfield who support local families in crisis with food, toiletries, and other essential items. We are delighted to share that collectively we have raised a fantastic £1937.79!

Throughout the week there were various activities including the ‘Greenhead Grand National’ staff horse race. Well done to the highly competitive yellow team, Ian Kennedy and Ed Barnes, who were the race winners.

Greenhead’s Got Talent took place on Thursday, consisting of various student performances made up of singers, musicians and even a unique majorette act.  The standard of talent was so high that we really struggled to decide the winner. In the end, two acts were awarded the winning title – well done to James Adams for his emotional piano performance, and to Kaicie Coucill for her breath-taking majorette routine. Well done to everybody who participated, you were all phenomenal.

On Friday, we rounded off the week with our annual fancy dress day. The variety of costumes was so impressive, and it was fantastic to such a high level of participation. Well done to Meg Harling, who won the student fancy dress prize for her incredibly creative Jellyfish costume, and to Liz Jowett and Lisa Norcliffe from our Reprographics department, who won the staff fancy dress prize with their creative theme park themed fancy dress.

Thank you to everybody who contributed to the week, including those who sent in donations of bakes and tombola prizes, your contributions really will make a huge difference for such an important cause.
