Outstanding Achievement in the Biology Olympiad at Greenhead College

Students at Greenhead College have performed exceptionally well in the British Biology Olympiad, securing a wide range of Gold, Silver, Bronze and Commendation awards in this highly challenging national competition.

The Biology Olympiad extends well beyond the A level specification, testing students’ understanding across a broad range of topics including genetics, molecular biology, physiology and ecology. The competition places particular emphasis on data analysis, interpretation of unfamiliar information and high‑level scientific reasoning.

This year, 18,800 students nationally took part in the Biology Olympiad, making Greenhead’s results particularly impressive. Among the award winners, A2 student Aaminah achieved a Gold Award, placing her in the top 5% of all participants nationwide. This represents an outstanding individual accomplishment and reflects exceptional biological understanding, analytical ability and academic commitment.
