Why Study This Subject?
Alongside our A Level courses, Greenhead College offers a vocational course in the OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care.
Vocational courses focus on practical, hands-on learning, enabling students to develop valuable skills and gain real-world experience from the very beginning of their studies.
Health and Social Care will provide students with a broad overview of this sector as they develop a deeper insight into the factors that affect individuals throughout their life, the roles and responsibilities of those working in this field, and the ways in which high-quality care is provided.
With a 100% pass rate across the College’s vocational courses, an impressive 95% of Health and Social Care students achieved a Merit, Distinction or Distinction* at the latest Results Day.
Year 1
- Principles of Health and Social Care (examined)
- Person-centred approach to care (non examined assessment)
- Supporting people with mental health conditions (non examined assessment).
Year 2
- Anatomy and physiology for Health and Social Care (examined)
- Supporting people with long term physiological conditions (non examined assessment)
- Supporting people in relation to sexual health, pregnancy and postnatal health (non examined assessment).
Equivalent to a full A Level, the course is graded Distinction*, Distinction, Merit or Pass.
Other than the College’s general entry requirements, there are no additional qualifications required.
