96 aspiring Medics and Dentists prepare for competitive admissions process

mock MMIs.jpgBefore the October half term, 96 of our aspiring Medics and Dentists prepared for the competitive university admissions process by taking part in mock Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI’s).

The MMI’s are a series of short interviews conducted by various Universities as part of their admissions process. The candidate is expected to answer scenario based questions, which generally focus on ethics, the skills the students have and why they want to enter their relevant profession. Students are then scored as per their answer.

The mock MMI’s were arranged by our Careers Department to give our students a taste of what to expect if they get through to interviews and to ensure they feel as prepared as possible on the day of their interviews.

Students were interviewed by our expert staff and industry professionals and received vital feedback of how they performed and the areas in which they could improve. This year we also introduced a reflective session for students. This session enabled students to share experiences and assist with interview preparation.

The College consistently sends many students onto these courses each year and this event just one of many ways the students are supported in the process.
