High standards locally – and Greenhead the top Sixth Form College for A Levels

Department for Education School and College Performance Tables published in January 2018 include data showing ‘value added’, which indicates student progress made since GCSE, as well as high grades achieved by students in key academic subjects.

In both categories, local schools and colleges achieved some outstanding results, reflecting the very high standard of post-16 provision in the region.

Greenhead College is the top performing designated Sixth Form College in Yorkshire and the Humber for A Level student progress and performance in facilitating A Levels often required for entry to the leading universities. 224 students achieved AAB grades in these subjects last year.

College Principal, Simon Lett, said:

“These latest government performance tables show that students at Greenhead make exceptional progress in their A Levels and achieve very high grades, opening the door to top universities, advanced modern apprenticeships and employment.”
