Top grades for students at Greenhead College!

Greenhead College has once again achieved superb exam results.  Many students achieved top grades, enabling them to secure their first choice destination in higher education, training or employment.

The overall pass rate is 98.5% (above the national average of 97.6%) with 83.5% of all grades at A*-C (national average 76.8%) and 64% at A*-B (national average 52.7%). 178 students gained A*/A in all 3 or 4 of their subjects, with 21 students gaining A* across the board.   

College Principal, Simon Lett said: “Given these are more challenging, linear A Levels, students have achieved absolutely brilliant results.  Our A*-B grades have risen once again, reflecting students’ high aspirations, hard work and commitment.  I would also like to thank parents and carers, and our magnificent staff for the steadfast support and guidance they have given our students.”

Joe Brown said

‘I can’t quite believe that is has actually happened, I’m really proud of myself and am looking forward to studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. Greenhead College gave me many opportunities such as the Oxbridge programme, the visit to CERN (European Council for Nuclear Research) near Geneva, and the Engineering Education Scheme’.

Maaedah Khan A*A*AA and Abigail Hutson A*A*A*

Maaedah is feeling shocked but really happy! She found the extra support out of lessons and the 1:1 help really useful, and her place at Oxford University to study medicine has now been confirmed.

Abigail has grown in confidence immensely at Greenhead College (according to her mum) and she is now looking forward to taking up her place at Huddersfield University to study Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Isaac Dyson A*AAA and Emma Gaughan A*A*AA

Isaac is delighted with his A*AAA grades and has really enjoyed the teaching and support at Greenhead College. He has gained a place at Manchester University to study Mathematics.

Emma is so proud of herself and commented

‘At Greenhead College there is amazing support, with motivation given sensitively’.

She will now be studying Modern Languages at Sheffield University.
