Meet our SLT

Simon Lett – Principal
My role as Principal is to ensure that Greenhead College is the best place to study A Levels. This means making sure that we deliver a high quality learning experience for all our students, including outstanding pastoral care, enriching extra-curricular activities and careers guidance which enables young people to progress successfully to the next phase of their education and training. I am able to do this through the commitment, dedication and support shown to our students by the teachers, support staff and managers who work at the College.
I was appointed Principal in 2016, having previously worked in two Sixth Form Colleges and three Further Education Colleges. I am passionate about education and how it can transform people’s lives. Outside College I am an avid film-goer, have a strong interest in jazz and enjoy circuit training in my spare time.
Mo Bunter – Deputy Principal

My role as Deputy Principal, is to ensure that every student at Greenhead College has the opportunity to fulfil their potential, both personally and academically. This involves ensuring that we have a curriculum that meets our students’ needs, an inclusive yet challenging learning environment. As part of their study programme all students have a dedicated Personal Tutor to provide pastoral care and support, additional subject support where appropriate to help them when they need it, an enrichment programme that offers over 100 activities for students to take part in every week and a project or work experience opportunity that is closely linked to their career aim.
We are able to deliver outstanding outcomes due to the personalised and innovative approach to teaching, learning and assessment across the College. Students have regular assessments and supportive monitoring points, which allow them to identify quickly what they need to do to improve, with the support of their teachers, Personal Tutor and learning support team.
Before working in the education sector I was National Marketing Implementation Manager for a large national organisation and towards the end of my career there, my job satisfaction came from training graduates. This experience gave me the motivation to retrain to become a teacher. I love my job and enjoy working with a dedicated and committed team, who together try and provide the same high quality of educational experience that we would want for our own children. Job satisfaction comes from knowing that I have made a positive difference to young people and the teams that I work with; helping them to be more aspirational and to work hard to achieve their dreams. On a personal note family is very important to me and in my spare time I enjoy walking, gardening and trying to keep fit!

Tom Rowley – Assistant Principal

As Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Quality and Student Outcomes, my role includes monitoring the quality of Teaching and Learning in the college, student progress and developing staff CPD. A keen historian, I studied at Sunderland and then completed my PGCE at Bristol University. I have worked in education for over 20 years, teaching History firstly to undergraduates at Huddersfield University, then 11-18 year olds in Hertfordshire before specialising at sixth form level here at Greenhead College. Deeply interested in developing pedagogy, I have played an active role in attending and presenting at teaching conferences, Teach Meets and running Greenhead’s own CPD programme. I supervise our London PAWS placement students every summer and enjoy the experience since that is my home town.
Prior to a career in teaching, I worked for Local Government across the capital in Housing and also Finance. In the summer break, I volunteer for the Newman Holiday Trust charity which provides holidays around the U.K. for over 120 children with disabilities and special needs aged 4-16 each year. My other interests include travel, current affairs, following and playing sport.
